“These duties align closely with my professional values and directly support my role within the Occupational Therapy department,” said DeVeaux.

DeVeaux, affectionately known as “Bee the OT,” is a certified lymphedema therapist and her clinical specialties include women’s health and prenatal and postpartum exercise. A graduate of the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, DeVeaux spent several years as an adjunct at her alma mater and then as a clinical instructor at Temple University Hospital before making the decision to enter academia full-time and join the Salus/Drexel OT faculty in 2021.

In addition to this appointment, DeVeaux serves as the faculty advisor for the COTAD (Coalition of Occupational Therapy Advocates for Diversity) chapter, which she helped establish, on the University’s Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, campus.

“My involvement with COTAD and the alumni board reflects a shared commitment to leadership, diversity, equity, and inclusion—principles that enrich our department, support student engagement, and align with the mission of Salus at Drexel University,” she said.
