PCO Grad Named No. 1 Eyecare Influencer of 2025

Everything that could go wrong with her eyes did. In high school, Jennifer Tsai developed a painful corneal ulcer, only to later experience something even more rare: bilateral retinal tears, a potentially sight-threatening condition in both eyes. It was this experience that made her painfully aware of just how fragile and vital vision truly is.

That experience didn’t just shape her — it sparked a lifelong purpose.

She’s built a national presence at the intersection of health care, wellness, beauty, and digital media — helping thousands rethink what ocular health really means.

Her path started at the University of Virginia, where she graduated with honors in both biology and psychology. But her vision truly took form at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) at Salus University.

“I appreciated how hands-on PCO was,” she said. “The earlier you get clinical experience in different cities and patient populations, the stronger you become.”

After earning her Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree, Dr. Tsai pursued elite-level clinical training at institutions like Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, and the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai. But instead of following the well-worn path, she took a bold leap.

She launched her first practice in Hudson Yards, New York City, followed by a second inside the ultra-luxurious Equinox Hotel, creating the first U.S. optometry clinic dedicated to regenerative eye and skin therapies, blending aesthetics with longevity care. LINE OF SIGHT now specializes in dry eye treatment, ocular aesthetics, and advanced technologies like exosome therapy, IPL, and amniotic lenses, offering patients both vision correction and a beauty-forward approach to self-care.

“The eyes are the first place we show signs of fatigue and aging,” said Dr. Tsai. “And, how you see affects how you feel. My mission is to help people feel well through seeing well.”

But her impact goes beyond the clinic. What started as a side project — travel blogging between board exams — evolved into a powerful online platform. With hundreds of thousands of followers across social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, Dr. Tsai now shares science-backed eye tips, wellness education, and lifestyle advice with a growing audience as .

“I realized there was a massive gap in how we talk about eye care,” she said. “People were going to social media for skincare and fitness tips, but no one was talking about their eyes. I wanted to change that.”

Her message has resonated across both the medical and consumer world. She’s been featured by Good Morning America, CNN, Forbes, The New York Times, and People Magazine, and was named one of Forbes’ Next 1000 Founders as well as Vision Monday’s Most Influential Women in Optical and a recipient of the New York Knicks Small Business Owner Award.

What’s next? She’s already eyeing expansion to Miami and Los Angeles, while mentoring the next generation of doctor-entrepreneurs looking to blend clinical care with a creative vision.

“I fell in love with optometry because of the compassion I saw in the doctors who helped me,” Dr. Tsai said. “Now I get to give that back, while redefining what modern eye care looks like.”
